This time Sloth serves you something that’s truly easy to make but which passes easily as a fine-dining experience. In front of you, lay our appetizers which can be dumbed down to only three ingredients – puff pastry, pears and blue cheese. Usually, few elements of the meal mean that there’s also not too many complicated steps between an idea and first byte. Also true with our snacks!
Oh, and in case you’re planning to quit reading because you want something sweeter, have a look at our Nutella and puff pastry treats.
However, if the elegant yet simple symphony of pears and cheese is the thing you want, keep on reading!
- 2-3 sheets puff pastry
- 2-3 pcs pear medium-sized
- 200 grams blue cheese or 7 oz
- 1 pcs egg for brushing the pastries
- melted butter also for brushing
Cut your puff pastry into squares
Slice the pears and blue cheese
Now simply put the pear slices and cheese on top of the puff pastry
Brush pastry with egg yolk and a little bit of butter
Bake for 15-20 minutes at a 375 degrees F (190 C)
If the cakes are crispy and golden brown, they’re ready to exit the oven
Let your masterpiece cool for 5 to 10 minutes
Here are some suggestions for serving the appetizers:
Sloth feels like a glass of cold sparkling wine should work wonders with our appetizers. Not a fan of bubbles? Lose the fizz then and pour yourself a glass of Riesling then.
As long as you want to combine the stars of this recipe with other food you have our blessing to serve everything you wish. However, since we’re playing with cheese and fruits today, Sloth’s pick would be a cheese platter and a selection of different fruits.
Sloth sincerely hopes you enjoyed our appetizers with pears and blue cheese just as much as we did. We wish you bon appetit and all the enjoyment for your taste buds.
