How about we start with good news for those who want to dedicate a whole month to one and only food. Here you go, July happens to be:
– National baked bean month
– National hot dog month
– National ice cream month
– National picnic month
– National pickle month
As a spoiler, we can tell you that there’s a load of food holidays taking place in July. Something sweet and something fancy, something fluffy and something boozy, it’s all there. So, something for all kinds of tastes.
Shall we dive straight into the a la carte menu of July? You bet! Nomnomnomnom…

July 4 – National Barbecue Day & Caesar Salad Day
Raise your flags, ready the fireworks and heat up the barbecues! It’s the fourth of July and even if you’re not an American celebrating the independence day you can still celebrate a beautiful summer day. For those who want to stay away from grilled food for some weird reason, there is always the Caesar salad to be enjoyed.
July 6 – National Fried Chicken Day
Heat up the oil and batter some chicken fillet! Serve it however you want, but Sloth chops up some tomatoes and cucumbers for the side salad. A friendly reminder – don’t go too hard on chicken wings today because (spoiler alert) you’ll get a chance to eat them at the end of the month ;).
July 7 – National Strawberry Sundae Day
So what if July 7 isn’t Sunday at all. You can still pile up some strawberry sundaes for your friends and family to celebrate this hall-of-famer of the ice cream desserts. Don’t fancy strawberries? Well, it’s your tremendous loss, but on the bright side, there’s a day dedicated to regular sundaes as well in July.
July 11 – National Blueberry Muffin Day & National Mojito Day
Fluffy muffins and minty cocktails – our favorites! Well, at least two of many favorites :). While there’s no escape from blueberries, you can skip the alcohol from your cocktail and enjoy a healthy virgin mojito. Tastes almost as good as her boozy sister.
July 13 – National French Fry Day
This one surely doesn’t need any further introductions. After all, we’re dealing with probably the most popular form of potatoes here. Did you know that the term french fries dates back to World War I era Belgium? Yup, U.S. soldiers had a blast with local deep-fried potatoes and forgot in which country they were in at the moment. But let’s be honest here, “french fries” sound a lot better than “Belgian spuds.”
July 18 – National Caviar Day
Caviar is considered one of the fanciest food in the world. This might be true if we’re talking about black caviar harvested from the sturgeons of the far north. Fortunately, there are cheaper options like salmon roe for example. As far as the drinks go today, there are two ways – French and Russian. So the choice is yours – a golden flute of champagne or an ice-cold shot of fine Russian vodka.
July 20 – National Ice Cream Sundae Day & National Lollipop Day
Bowl of ice cream or candy on a stick – pick your weapon! It’s been a while since Sloth last had a lollipop, but if we recall correctly, there’s definitely an ice cream sundae lollipop in the assortment of all mighty Chupa Chups.
July 24 – National Tequila Day
Today we can all be Mexicans! Hit your tequila straight with salt and lemon if you like the authentic Mexican punch in the face. If it’s romantic feelings you’re after, a nice Tequila sunrise or Margarita sounds more suitable. Either way, Los bottomes up!
July 27 – National Scotch Day
Nope, not the tape type of scotch we’re celebrating today. Whiskeys of Scotland have long and colorful history behind. That should guarantee that there will be a scotch to match the taste of every whiskey fan out there.
July 28 – National Milk Chocolate Day & National Hamburger Day
July 28 covers your main course and a dessert perfectly. Since it’s summer, heat up the grill and be ready to flip some juicy burgers. For the dessert? Something-something milk chocolate involved, of course! Really, the possibilities with milk chocolate are near-endless.
You know, Vibrant Sloth once tried to mix chocolate and burgers. The result was a delicious dessert we called Nutella sliders. Enjoy!
July 29 – National Lasagna Day & National Chicken Wing Day
First, get on your Garfield mode and dedicate yourself to lasagna, one of the cornerstones of Italian cuisine. If there’s no Italian restaurants near you and making your own lasagna feels like seven layers of misery, there are also chicken wings on the menu today!
July 31 – National Raspberry Cake Day & National Cotton Candy Day
Let’s end July with the ultra-sweet notes. First, there’s a fluffy raspberry cake on the table. We’ll forgive you if you ditch the cake and enjoy just raspberries, plain and simple. Next up – 100% sugar! Find your nearest carnival, fair or amusement park and grab your cloud of sugar as soon as humanly possible.
Sloth wishes you fantastic July with all the sun, happiness and appetite you need!
